The Trustees

Greg Thomas (Chair)

Greg is a consultant to the Lower Hutt law firm of Thomas Dewer Szirani Letts. He is chair of E Tu and was a member of the steering committee which established the Trust. He has a long standing interest in the visual arts and has been involved in the governance of other arts and not-for-profit groups.

Allan Brown

Allan Brown has had extensive design and manufacturing experience in Hutt City with Formway Furniture and Metallion. He has manufactured a number of sculptural works for Leon Van Den Eijkel. This design and maintenance experience is valuable for the Trust. He is also a trustee of the Great Harbour Way Trust.

Claire Allen

Claire was closely involved in the installation of Lightwing, the Trust’s major work on the Seaview roundabout, through her role as administrator of the Seaview Working Group. She is currently employed on urban development projects.

Dan Males

Dan Males is a registered member of the New Zealand institute of Landscape Architects and Director of Local Landscape Architecture Collective. He has worked closely with clients and specialist teams to deliver some of New Zealand’s most loved and award winning landscapes. As a trustee, Dan is able to complete complex projects, with expertise from feasibility to construction.

David Ogden

David Ogden is a chartered accountant. He is a past mayor of Hutt City and has been on other local authorities. He was a member of the Dowse Museum management board. He promoted and discussed the idea of a public art trust following discussions with Tim Walker a former Director of the Dowse Museum.

Desiree Mulligan

Desiree Mulligan was a member of the Hutt City Central Ward Community committee, and promoted the idea of a public art trust. She has been on the Hutt City community arts advisory group, and the committee of the Avalon Hall. She teaches history and english and has an interest in public art.

Ian Pike

Ian Pike has had an active role in urban development with attention to urban form and the improvement of public places, in particular the Wellington waterfront and Hutt CBD . Ian was involved with a number of art installations on Wellington’s waterfront including the Len Lye Water Whirler, Solace in the Wind and Nga Kina. He is also a trustee of the Great Harbour Way Trust.

Leigh Sutton

Leigh Sutton has a long involvement with her local and the wider Lower Hutt community. She is the publisher of the Stokes Valley Times, Taita Times, and Vibrant Hutt. Leigh is a current Hutt City Councillor She is the Chair of Keep Hutt City Beautiful, and trustee of the Stokes Valley Community Trust.
